The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a 2012 epic fantasy film adaptation of the first half of the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien.Been almost 10 years the day the first "Lord of the Rings" movie in theaters, the first trailer for its predecessor, "The Hobbit", revealed. Peter Jackson returns to Middle Earth for the first time since winning three Oscars for "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," the story of Bilbo Baggins and his adventures to tell, the United Nain of Erebor from the dragon Smaug recover. Baggins, who is Martin Freeman ("The Office") is played, joined by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), the band of warriors dwarf oak tag, and Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen).

The film, which is scheduled for December, is one of the two "Hobbit" Jackson images are deleted, with "The Hobbit: There and Back Again," slated for release in 2013.
